There has been lot of cricket in 2017, the Cricingif team selects their best T20I bowler.
Four out of the five highest wicket takers in T20Is in 2017 were wrist spinners. My pick is Rashid Khan. He may not have been pitted against the best sides in the world, but what a year he has had. Rashid became a globetrotter earning IPL, BPL, and BBL contracts, but, more importantly, getting his country Afghanistan recognised as a profound cricketing force all over the world.
Pakistan have won 8 of the 10 T20Is they played this year. Shadab Khan has been key in helping them achieve this level of consistency, taking 14 wickets at an average of 16.64 and an economy-rate of 6.50. It is heartening to see a youngster making his presence felt in the team right from the word go.
5 of the top 10 wicket takers in T20 cricket this year were leg spinners, so it would just be natural if a leg spinner was the best T20 bowler of the year. And that leggie is Rashid Khan. His numbers this year has been phenomenal, conceding runs at less than 5 runs an over and picking wickets for 4, his 4 over figures for the year would read 1.94 wickets for 18.28 runs which is outstanding in T20 cricket.
Rashid Khan: M 10 - Wickets 17 – BBI 5/3 – Avg 9.41 – 5fer 1
The breakthrough year for the young Afghan leggie. While Yuzvendra Chahal leads the T20I bowling charts, it’s Rashid Khan who has created the most buzz, getting contracts in IPL, CPL and BBL.
