69.4 - S Curran to R Ashwin

Sam Curran to Ravichandran Ashwin. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot working, hit pad to. There it is, Ashwin is trapped in front as the ball skids through low and the umpire raises the dreaded digit. Sam Curran finishes the job, a fitting moment for the young man after he saved England with the bat in the first innings. What a Test match this has been, a great advert for the sport. England end as victors by 60 runs and take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. Southampton has been host to a fantastic match this week, with ebbs and flows one way and then the other. At the start of the day things were in the balance, but then the hosts surged ahead with a brilliant new ball spell. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane led the fight back with a patient, determined partnership of 101 as the tourists started to believe. England will have been getting nervous as India inched closer to the target, but Moeen Ali provided the key moment by getting Kohli snaffled at short leg. It was deserved success for the spinner due to his ability to hit the rough and challenge the batsmen consistently. He went on to finish with nine wickets in the match, a vital contribution as England seal the series with one match to play.

68.6 - M Ali to R Ashwin

Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, to backward point for 1 run, shy attempt by Curran. Ashwin pulls up after scampering a quick single, he seems to have injured himself in stretching to make his ground.

68.5 - M Ali to R Ashwin

Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs. Ashwin isn't going to give up the fight for the tourists. If he can farm the strike effectively then he still believes an Indian win is a possibility. Measured aggression is the way for him to go.
