16.5 - I Sodhi to K Rajitha

Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, top edge in the air uncontrolled to leg gully, by Seifert. New Zealand have beaten Sri Lanka by 35 runs at Eden Park in the Only T20I to leave the tourists without a win all tour. In the early stages of the game that looked improbable as the Kiwis crashed to 55/5 halfway through their innings. Lower order cameos from Doug Bracewell and Scott Kuggeleijn launched the hosts up to a healthy if not daunting total in Auckland. In response, Sri Lanka made their approach clear from the start with the top order playing as many shots as possible. They were losing regular wickets yet still looked in control until a sublime 13th over by Lockie Ferguson where he took two wickets, including the explosive Thisara Perera, and conceded just two runs. That proved to be the decisive turning point as the Black Caps mopped up the tail with ease. New Zealand's next assignment is some white-ball cricket at home against India, whereas Sri Lanka have the tough prospect of a tour of Australia.
