An absolute run-fest in the First ODI in Barbados has resulted in a six wicket victory for England as they chased down the daunting Windies total of 360/8 with eight balls to spare. Contrasting centuries from Jason Roy and Joe Root made it look simple for the tourists, although they were both helped by some sloppy catching from the hosts. Roy played a vast array of flamboyant strokes, finding the boundary with regularity to get England ahead of the required run rate. Meanwhile, Root quietly went about his business of ticking the scoreboard over and rotating the strike with ruthless efficiency. It's England's highest ever successful ODI chase and another feather in the cap of this powerful batting line-up. Earlier in the day, Bridgetown was swept up in a Gayle-storm as the universe boss unleashed twelve sixes on his way to a brutal 135. It was a day to forget for the bowlers on both sides, but wonderful entertainment for everyone else at Kensington Oval. We'll be back for the Second ODI on this ground on Friday.

Root can't believe what he's done. They only need one run for the win and he's slapped a full toss straight to a fielder in the deep. They check for a possible no-ball but it won't save him.

48.3 - J Holder to J Root

Full toss, off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep square leg, by Pooran.
