England have beaten Windies by four wickets to take an early lead in the three match T20I series, reaching their target with seven deliveries remaining in St Lucia. Jonny Bairstow set the tone in the chase, blasting his way to a career best 68 as the tourists raced ahead of the required run rate. There was a little wobble towards the end of the innings with Sheldon Cottrell bowling intelligently, but Joe Denly got them close enough for it to be too little too late. With the bat, no one could support Nicholas Pooran's explosive 58 for the hosts as the left-hander smashed four sixes. Chris Jordan, Tom Curran and Adil Rashid will all be pleased with their bowling performances as they stifled the normally powerful men in maroon. In the end, the main difference between the two sides was the fielding - Jordan took a spectacular return catch in the first innings while the Windies dropped a few chances and made several fumbles in the second. They will need to work on that for the 2nd T20I in St Kitts on Friday.

Now then, is there going to be a twist in this match? England have been coasting along but all of a sudden they are looking nervous with just seven runs required. Billings was completely deceived by the slower ball and Cottrell made a mess of the stumps. Attention.
