Kagiso Rabada displayed an exhibition of yorkers as Delhi edged out Kolkata in Super Over, denying them a hat-trick of wins.
With 11 required to win in the Super Over, KKR could only score six runs. Delhi Capitals scored 10 from the Super Over bowled by Prasidh Krishna.
Chasing 186 to win, Prithvi Shaw missed out on his maiden hundred, scoring 99 while Shreyas Iyer scored 43 off 32 balls.
The duo of Shaw and Iyer added 89 runs for the second wicket in just 56 balls before the latter got out for 43 off Andre Russell’s bowling.
Shaw, on the other hand, kept the scoreboard ticking but was essentially dismissed off Lockie Ferguson’s bowling.
With six required off the final over, Kuldeep Yadav held his nerve and Delhi lost theirs, losing wickets of Vihari and Ingram, forcing this season’s first Super Over.
Earlier, Andre Russell came to the rescue once more while Dinesh Karthik led from the front as Kolkata recovered from an early collapse and scored 185 after asked to bat first.
Kolkata were reduced to 61/5 by the end of 10 overs, with the likes of Nikhil Naik, Chris Lynn, Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and Shubman Gill back in the pavilion.
However, Russell hammered 62 off 28 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 4 fours before being dismissed by Chris Morris.
Kolkata skipper Dinesh Karthik scored 50 off 36 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
