CSK took their time but there was never any doubt about who would emerge victorious from this match once they limited KKR to 108/9. A sluggish surface made strokeplay difficult so Faf du Plessis was content to anchor the chase with a patient unbeaten 43. Deepak Chahar was the star with the ball for the hosts, his 3/20 set things up for the spinners to take over and strangle the visiting batsmen. Even the normally explosive Andre Russell was subdued, his fifty lifted KKR but he didn't get enough support. So Chennai finish the night sitting pretty at the top of the table, while Kolkata will rue a wasteful batting effort. We're back tomorrow for more IPL action.
