Bangladesh were teetering at 106-9 in 25 overs when persistent rain abandoned their ICC Under-19 World Cup clash against Pakistan.

A steady drizzle in the morning had initially shortened the contest to a 39-overs-a-side affair before a rain stoppage in the middle of the Bangladesh innings reduced it to a 37-over match.

However, no play was possible after umpires called for covers with Bangladesh struggling against the three-pronged pace attack of Pakistan.

The first incision was made by Amir Khan in the sixth over when he removed Parvez Hossain Emon.

The right-armer dismissed three more batsmen following his initial strike to end up with figures of 4-30 in six overs.

More importantly, this was young Amir's maiden appearance in the tournament and he has already been making waves back home.

Amir was recruited by Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League to accompany them for this year's edition of the T20 competition.

Amir's bowling partner Abbas Afridi also inflicted significant damage on Bangladesh's batting line-up as he returned figures of three for 20.

Only three batters from the junior 'Tigers' could make two-digit scores with Shahadat Hossain unbeaten on a patient 16 off 41 balls.

The draw between the two teams allows Bangladesh to finish Group C on top of the pile though it is likely the standing would have been different had the match continued uninterrupted.
