The PSL final for this years edition of Pakistan Super League (2018) would be held in Karachi. Following the successful return of cricket to Lahore in the year 2017, the PCB has been making efforts for the return of Pakistan's favourite sport to Karachi. The PSL 2018 final will the first step towards that with the West Indies tour of Pakistan for three T20Is to follow.
PCB and PSL chairman Najam Sethi announced the return of top-level cricket to Karachi last year.
The National Stadium, Karachi has been undergoing major refurbishing to get ready to host the showdown of the much anticipated final contest to be played between PSL's leading franchises. The stadium has not hosted any cricket for around two decades now except for local domestic matches. The PSL final and then back to back T20Is with West Indies are certainly going to bring Karachiites in huge numbers to the National Stadium.
Islamabad United , after winning the qualifier , are already into the final. The other side to land in the final would be chosen from Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings as per the result of their match in Lahore. For the Karachi Kings, it is a huge opportunity to play in their home ground.

The sad news for the fans is that Misbah is out of the finals and even if Karachi Kings qualify Shahid Afridi would also not be able to represent them on his home ground due to an injury. However both greats of the game would grace the occasion with their presence on this huge occasion for Pakistan cricket.
