Natwest T20 Blast

Junaid joins Lancashire

"In both 2011 and 2014 the team reached Finals Day so it would great to get back there again this year and win some more silverware for this great club, following 2015's triumph."

Junaid Khan, Pakistan pace bowler, has signed up with Lancashire for NatWest T20 Blast in summer.

This will be left-arm fast-bowler’s third stint with the English country after playing for them in 2011 and 2014, taking 12 wickets in eight matches and 19 wickets in 10 matches respectively.

Lancashire made it to the Finals Day in both seasons.

Speaking to the county’s website, Junaid said: "I thoroughly enjoyed both my spells at Emirates Old Trafford and I'm looking forward to linking up with the squad later this summer.

"The whole club made me feel incredibly welcome when I played for Lancashire in 2011 and 2014. The experiences I gained in those years has enhanced my performance in my ability to swing and seam when bowling.”

The 27-year-old Pakistan international is donning Peshawar Zalmi’s colours in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. He has picked up just two wickets in three matches at 50.

The figures however do not represent the true picture of Junaid’s potential in the format. In the 97 shorter format games, he has picked taken 116 wickets at a decent average of 21.

"The different climate conditions have also strengthened me as player,” Junaid added. “Hopefully this year I can give something back, both on the field and off the field.
