Moises Henriques, Peter Siddle delivered for their side as Montreal Tigers edged Edmonton Royals by 15 runs in a low-scoring game in the Global T20 Canada League.
Put in to bat first, Montreal Tigers were in dire straits when Wayne Parnell and Sohail Tanvir reduced them to 30-3 inside the powerplay.
However, Sikandar Raza and Moises Henriques notched up a 52-run partnership to give Tigers a ray of hope before Raza mistimed a big shot straight to long-off. Moises Henriques scored a run-a-ball half-century to get to 129 which wasn’t as big a score.
In reply, Tigers got rid of the destructive Luke Ronchi fairly early and the rest of their batting were rather skittled as there wasn’t one real solid partnership to give them a chance in this game. Peter Siddle removed Agha Salman and Farhan Behardien on successive deliveries before returning at the death and picking up two more wickets.
His figures of 3.1-0-13-4 earned him the man of the match award.
