Vancouver Knights edged Winnipeg Hawks by 13 runs on D/L method to seal the second spot in the final of Global T20 Canada 2018.
The start of the match was delayed due to rain, with game being reduced to 13 overs a side.
Put in to bat first, Vancouver Knights posted 152 for five in 13 overs with Chadwick Walton top-scoring with 45. Chris Gayle fell early for just 8, but Aussie Ben Dunk and Andre Russell smashed 29 and 36 respectively to power Knights past 150.
For the Hawks, Ali Khan took two wickets but went for 47 in 3 overs. Fidel Edwards, who took one wicket, also went for 44 in 3 overs. Rayad Emrit and Lendl Simmons were the other two wicket takers.
With D/L par-score in mind under looming showers, the Hawks were off to a torrid start as skipper David Warner was removed by Tim Southee for a golden duck. Lendl Simmons smashed 35 off 20 keep up with the run rate but wickets at the other end meant the Hawks fell 12 runs short of the par score when the rain return in the 9th over. Knights were declared the winners soon after.
Vancouver Knights will take on West Indies B in the final of inaugural Global T20 Canada on Sunday.
