Chris Green replaces Shoaib Malik for Guyana Amazon Warriors

Guyana Amazon Warriors have replaced Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik with Australian Chris Green for the rest of 2018 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season.

Shoaib Malik will be returning to Pakistan to link up with his national team for a training camp ahead of the Asia Cup. Malik, who captained Guyana in the first five games of the season, scored 119 runs including a fifty against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Chris Green, who initially joined the Warriors as a cover for Cameron Delport, will now stay with the team till the end. Green has impressed for the Guyanese franchise so far this season with five wickets in four games with an excellent economy rate of 6.5 runs per over. He also played an important cameo of 25 not out in the Warriors first game of the season against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

Guyana are currently fourth in the CPL standings with three wins from their five games. The Amazon Warriors face the Patriots in their return leg of the season on August 28 at the Warner Park.
