Mohammad Hafeez has been added to 17-man squad for the two-match Test series against Australia, PCB announced Monday.
The 37-year-old is making a comeback to the Test squad after a span of two years and was a part of the playing XI against England at Birmingham which Pakistan lost by 141 runs.
Hafeez’s exclusion from the Asia Cup brought a lot of criticism towards the selection committee which selected five fast bowlers for the tournament which was played in the UAE.
Hafeez has had a decent run with the bat of late in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy as he scored a double hundred for SNGPL against Peshawar at Faisalabad. His 213 took SNGPL to 472 after Peshawar were knocked out for 172 in the first innings. The all-rounder also took 3-41 in the second innings as Peshawar were bowled out for 191.
The Test series kicks off from October 7 at Dubai.
