After being beaten by Kowloon Cantons on the opening day of the five-team Hong Kong T20 Blitz, City Kaitak registered their first win of the season by defeating Galaxy Gladiators Lantau by six wickets.
English pace bowler Chris Jordan picked up three wickets after Lantau opted to bat first. The right-arm medium pacer gave away 25 runs in four overs.
Opening the batting for Lantau, their captain Anshuman Rath scored 42 runs in 29 balls. Lantau managed 155 at the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Kaitak chased the total within 15.2 overs. Kyle Coetzer and Tillakaratne Dilshan, who was out in the first over without scoring in the last match, gave a 49-run opening stand in just 3.2 overs.
Dilshan went on and scored a 29-ball 38 with five 4s and two 6s to settle the match in his side’s favour. He was dimissed on the second ball of the eighth over, but by then he had done enough damage to the opposition.
