PCB issues Jamshed Notice of Charge

The PCB has issued a Notice of Charge to Nasir Jamshed for violation of its anti-corruption code. The Pakistan international was suspended by the country’s cricket board after a spot-fixing scandal broke out during the second edition of the PSL in February-March this year. He is required to respond within 14 days.

Jamshed was alleged of arranging meetings between bookmakers and several Pakistan internationals to corrupt the PSL.

“PCB’s investigations with regard to any potential breaches of the PCB anti-corruption code will carry on as PCB continues with its relentless commitment to uproot the menace of corrupt practices from the game of cricket,” the cricket board said in a statement.

Jamshed, who is based in England these days, was arrested last month by the local authorities. However, he was released on a bail.

Jamshed has denied to corporate with the PCB since the scandal broke out and Cricingif understands that the cricket governing body is set to send a two-member panel to England to question the batsman.

According to the release, the PCB has also referred Hasan’s case to an anti-corruption tribunal.
