Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq will not participate in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League as a player, franchise owner Ali Naqvi has confirmed.
“Misbah is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant cricketing minds of today. We as a team and I personally have been privileged to benefit from his leadership on and off the ground. We are looking forward to his next innings,” an official statement said.
Misbah, who led the franchise to two PSL titles, has been with them since the inaugural season of the tournament back in 2016.
Islamabad United, however, want to have Misbah working with them in some capacity since they value his input greatly.
Sources close to the franchise have also indicated that Tauseef Ahmed will be parting ways with the current champions, while Saeed Ajmal will be included into the coaching staff.
The fourth edition of PSL will commence on 14th February, 2019.
