Dinesh Chandimal has been ruled out of the second England Test after he suffered a groin injury during the Galle Test.
Chandimal will be out for two weeks which makes him doubtful for the third Test in Colombo, starting on November 23.
Suranga Lakmal will be leading Sri Lanka whereas Charith Asalanka has been included as a replacement.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka team manager Charith Senanayake quit for "personal reasons" and was replaced by Jeryl Woutersz, the SLC said.
The next Test starts Wednesday at Pallekele. England lead the three match series 1-0.
