The T10 league schedule consists of eight teams divided into two groups. The first edition of the tournament featured only six teams. These were:
Team Sri Lanka
The 2018 edition will not feature Team Sri Lanka but three new teams have been added to tournament. These are:
Sindhis (or Sindhis)
The teams have been divided into two groups A and B which are as under:
Group A: Sindhis, Rajputs, Kerala Kings, Pakhtoons
Group B: Maratha Arabians, Punjabi Legends, Bengal Tigers, Northern Warriors
This is how the format has been designed for T10 league 2018:
The eight teams will compete with each other in a preliminary round. All teams will move on to the second round but the table toppers would have the benefit of playing weaker teams from the other group.
The team topping the table in Group A would play against Team 2,3 and 4 from group B.
The top teams from this ‘Super 8’ round would move on to the first semi final.
The team winning the semi final would qualify for the final.
The losing team , however, will get another go as they will take on the winner of the eliminator which will be played between Team 3 and Team 4.
Overall the format has been designed to have many permutations and combinations and with 10 over cricket being played on the ground, how the teams manage the points table would be an interesting watch throughout the tournament.
