Opening batsman Marcus Harris is set to make his Test debut against India after being picked in Australia's squad for their first two Test matches.
The 26-year-old, who is the Sheffield Shield's second-highest run-scorer, is expected to open the innings on December 6 alongside Aaron Finch.
Chris Tremain, Harris's uncapped Victoria team-mate, was also included as part of the bowling line-up.
The trio of Smith, Warner, and Bancroft remain unavailable as they serve bans for ball-tampering.
Usman Khawaja was named in the squad but is yet to prove his fitness after recovering from knee surgery.
Marnus Labuschagne, who was a part of the side on the UAE tour, has been left out with middle-order batsman Peter Handscomb back in the limelight after losing his place during last year's Ashes series.
The bowling attack is led by Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon, with Tremain or veteran Peter Siddle in the mix.
