Fast-bowler Mohammad Abbas’ immaculate bowling yielded him his Test career’s first five-wicket haul on Saturday during the final Test between the West Indies and Pakistan at Guyana.
The right-armer kicked off the fourth day in style after Mohammad Amir removed Shane Dowrich in the first over. With a rapidly deteriorating ball on an abrasive wicket, he brought the reverse swing into play to dismiss Roston Chase and Davendra Bishoo in two consecutive deliveries, and Alzzari Joseph in his next over.
The 27-year-old picked up two more and took his tally to five wickets. His first wicket of the innings had come on day three when he pinned Vaushal Singh LBW.
