Stunning half-centuries from Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan backed by a solid bowling performance from the fast bowlers paved the way for the Cape Town Blitz to make it four wins from four in the Mzansi Super League.
The two openers shared in a 99-run opening stand as the visitors amassed 198/5 after being asked to bat.
Quinton de Kock top-scored with a brutal 74 off 36 ball while Malan followed up with 66 off 43 balls.
Their bowling was led by pace duo Anrich Nortje (3/30) and Dale Steyn (2/23) as they shot the Jozi Stars out for 136 in 17.4 overs.
Andile Phehlukwayo followed them with two for 12, while George Linde cleaned up the tail with three for 25.
The platform was laid by De Kock and Malan, who plundered a competition high 70 in the six powerplay overs.
Their partnership was finally broken by Duanne Olivier – who got 3 for 40 from his quota of four overs.
The fast bowler got both of them, first sending De Kock on his way, although Farhaan Behardien (30) helped add 66 for the second wicket, before cleaning up Malan.
However, Cape Town Blitz ensured the Stars were immediately back under the pump by removing two of the top three batters inside a space of eight balls.
There was no respite for the Stars, and even though Dan Christian tried his best with 24.
Quinton de Kock was declared man of the match for his 74 off 36 balls.
