Rain almost played the spoilt sport at Chinnaswamy and threatening to wash out the day, but luck favoured Kolkata as the skies cleared just in time. KKR were given a target of 48 in 6 overs under D/L method which they chased down with 4 balls to spare. KKR had a shaky start with Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan and Chris Lynn falling cheaply within first 7 balls. But Gambhir along with Ishank Jaggi ensured a smooth passage and book KKR’s birth in final.
Earlier, being put into bat SRH were restricted 128 on a tricky Bangalore pitch. Other than skipper David Warner, no other batsmen seemed to be in control as SRH continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Warner top scored with 37, while Nathan Coulter-Nile claimed three wickets for KKR.
KKR will now face MI on the same turf in a day to decide the second finalist of the season who will take on RPS on Sunday.
