Shoulder injury has put Mohammad Abbas’ participation in doubt for the third and final Test against New Zealand starting December 3.

Abbas injured his right shoulder while fielding in the second Test against New Zealand, which Pakistan comprehensively won by an innings and 16 runs as Yasir Shah wreaked havoc on the visitors.

The 28-year-old, who had a stellar series against Australia in the UAE, has so far picked only two wickets in the ongoing series against the Black Caps.

In case Abbas doesn’t get fit for the Test, Shaheen Shah Afridi could well make his Test debut after strong performances in the limited overs cricket.

The third and decisive Test starts from December 3 in Abu Dhabi.
