Mohammad Amir, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan have been included in the 16-man Pakistan squad for South Africa Tests.
Shan Masood’s prolific run for Pakistan A has earned him a call-up in place of the retiring opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez.
Amir, who was dropped after a poor run of form in the Asia Cup, has made his way into the side as chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq believes the left-armer has regained his touch in domestic cricket.
"Amir makes a comeback in the team after regaining his form in domestic cricket, giving strength to a fast bowling attack that includes four pace bowlers," said Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq in a PCB media release.
Mohammad Abbas has retained his place in the squad despite injuring his shoulder during the Dubai Test against New Zealand and had to miss out on the third and decisive Test match. He is expected to be fit for the Boxing Day Test starting December 26.
Fakhar Zaman, who is currently going under rehabilitation at NCA after an aggravated knee problem, is expected to take part in all three Tests.
Backup wicketkeeper, Mohammad Rizwan has also returned to the squad after his consistent performance in the domestic cricket and for Pakistan 'A'.
Pakistan play three Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is against South Africa starting on December 26.
