Mark Wood was the pick of the bowlers for England. In his first spell he got rid of the destructive David Warner for 21. Then he struck on the first bowl of his 2nd spell to get the wicket of the dangerous captain Steve Smith who was batting on 56. He broke the momentum of the Australian innings every time he took a wicket. Mark Wood ended with a career best bowling figures of four for 33. His other two wickets were of Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa.
