Melbourne Stars claimed a convincing seven wicket win over Melbourne Renegades in the 16th match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
After winning the toss, Stars sent in Renegades to bat, and the men in red scored a quick-fire 50 runs. But the Stars fought back, snatching the wickets of two openers in quick succession.

Daniel Christian top-scored with 32 off 28 balls as Renegades managed to put on 148/9 from 20 overs.
In reply, openers Ben Dunk (32) and Marcus Stoinis combined to pile on 67 runs for their opening partnership.
Stoinis reached his 50 off 35 balls including four fours and two sixes. The opener finished unbeaten 78 off 49 while Maxwell also compiled 33 runs to help the Stars to a seven wicket win.
Marcus Stoinis was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
