The Indian Premier League will be held in India, the BCCI said Tuesday, quelling speculation that the T20 extravaganza could be held elsewhere owing to a clash with a general election.

Gamblers removed from BPL games

A special temporary courthouse at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium expelled 20 gamblers for placing illegal bets during the first three days of the Bangladesh Premier League.

Betting is illegal in Bangladesh but rampant during cricket matches, where gamblers exploit a brief delay between live play and the official broadcast of results to place frantic bets.

Hardik Pandya in trouble over 'misogynist' comments

The BCCI Wednesday ordered all-rounder Hardik Pandya to explain sexist comments made on a TV show after the remarks sparked social media outrage and prompted the player to apologise. He has been suspended and called back from Australia along with Rahul.

In an Instagram post, Pandya said he "got a bit carried away" as he explained his bragging about his prowess with women.

Pandya and KL Rahul, who also took part in the interview, have both been ordered to explain their comments.

USA Cricket reinstated

The International Cricket Council approved USA Cricket as its 105th member, restoring the sport in the United States after the expulsion of a previous national governing body.

The move making USA Cricket the ICC's 93rd associate member allows the group to obtain ICC development funding and sanction international and domestic cricket in the United States.

Albie Morkel retires from all forms of cricket

Veteran South Africa all-rounder Albie Morkel announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday, ending a professional career that has spanned nearly 20 years.

Morkel played one Test, 58 ODIs and 50 T20Is for his country, scoring 1412 runs and picking up 77 wickets across formats.

Amir, Masood included in squad for South Africa ODIs

Fast bowler Mohammad Amir and opening batsman Shan Masood have been included in 16-man ODI squad to face South Africa in five ODIs starting January 19.

Amir was left out for the ODIs against New Zealand after struggling to pick up wickets but showed decent form in the recent series against South Africa, grabbing eight wickets at an average of 23.87.
