Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has joined Yorkshire as an overseas player for Natwest T20 Blast. He replaces Peter Handscomb, who will be attending his national side’s training camp ahead of their Bangladesh tour.
Sarfraz, who recently succeeded Misbah-ul-Haq as Pakistan’s Test captain, led Pakistan’s successful ICC Champions Trophy campaign last month.
The wicketkeeper-batsman's availability is subject to the allocation of the work-visa. He is expected to don Yorkshire’s colours in five matches.
Sarfraz has 1626 runs in the shortest format at a strike rate of 126. He has taken 52 catches and stumped 30 times.
