PCB ropes in new production company for PSL after IMG-Reliance backs out

The Pakistan Cricket Board Tuesday announced the consortium of Blitz and Trans Group as the new live production partner for the ongoing season of Pakistan Super League. Blitz are the PCB’s broadcast partners in Pakistan, while Trans Group are the event management partners.

The development comes after Indian broadcast company IMG-Reliance withdrew from its contract to produce coverage of the PSL amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India following a deadly Kashmir attack last week.

The company was televising the PSL's UAE leg and was also due to televise the Pakistan leg in Karachi and Lahore next month.

Blitz and Trans Group will start their coverage from the Sharjah leg of the 2019 edition on Wednesday,

"The company will continue to provide the same high-quality coverage which the followers experienced in the earlier games of the event," said a PCB release.

The PCB had earlier regretted IMG-Reliance's decision to end its contract and had also vowed to take up the matter with the BCCI and the ICC at a meeting scheduled in Dubai later this month.
