Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi will go head-to-head in the ninth match of the Pakistan Super League as the Sharjah leg continues. Both the sides have played two matches each, winning one and losing one.
Kings outplayed Multan Sultans in their opening game by a narrow seven-run margin before going down to arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars in their second game as they failed to chase 139-run target.
On the other hand, Zalmi lost to Quetta Gladiators by six wickets before thumping Lahore by seven wickets to make a statement in the tournament.
Peshawar possess a well-balanced attack, comprising of Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Umaid Asif and Sameen Gul. They routed Lahore for just 78 with Hasan Ali doing most of the damage at the top while Wahab Riaz finished off the tail.
However, Peshawar will be hoping Misbah-ul-Haq gets fit before this game as he had to miss out the last game against Lahore with a slight hamstring injury.
Karachi Kings will be banking on their two dashing openers – Liam Livingstone and Babar Azam – to fire on all cylinders as they did against Multan with a magnificent 157-run stand.
Both Karachi and Peshawar have exciting spinners in Umer Khan and Ibtisam Sheikh.
Umer Khan impressed in the two games, taking the prized scalp of AB de Villiers while Zalmi’s leggie Ibtisam Sheikh had made his mark last year and was impressive in his only outing against Lahore, grabbing two for 14 in his four overs.
