Peshawar Zalmi thumped defending champions Islamabad United by 48 runs to qualify for the finals of Pakistan Super League 2019.
Chasing a mammoth target of 215 runs, Islamabad’s chase was halted from the start when they lost Luke Ronchi and Alex Hales with just 26 runs on the board.
Chadwick Walton and Cameron Delport kept their side in the contest with a brisk partnership of 63 runs. But Delport was undone by a hard length from Hasan whose top-edge was caught easily at mid-on.
Walton scored 48 runs off 29 balls, with the help of three fours and as many sixes.
Faheem Ashraf played a quick fire innings of 14-ball 31 but that wasn’t enough to take his side over the line.
Pacemen Hasan Ali and Chris Jordan were the pick of the bowlers with three wickets each.
Earlier, Zalmi posted 214 in from 20 overs after they were put in to bat first by Islamabad United.
Openers Kamran Akmal (74 off 43) and Imam-ul-Haq (58 off 33) set the platform for a massive target with a 135-run opening stand.
Cameron Delport removed both Zalmi openers in the same over but at this stage captain Darren Sammy and all-rounder Kieron Pollard took charge of the innings.
Pollard scored a quick fire 37 runs off 21 balls, with the help of four sixes and a single boundary while Sammy remained unbeaten on 30 off 15 balls.
Peshawar Zalmi will take on Quetta Gladiators in the final on March 17.
