Mohammad Saad, Adil Amin and Wahab Riaz starred as KPK edged Federal Areas by three wickets in the second match of the Pakistan Cup 2019.
With 270 to win, Salman Butt and Abid Ali were removed early by Sameen Gul and Zia-ul-Haq respectively.
However, Mohammad Saad (65 off 84) and Adil Amin (70 off 75) then set the platform for their side by a 107-run partnership.
Mohammad Saad was eventually caught off Bilal Asif’s bowling and soon after, Adil Amin followed him as well.
At that point in the game, KPK required 86 runs to win with six wickets intact.
Khushdil Shah (40 off 56) held one end strongly to eventually get his side over the line against Federal Areas.
He was well supported by Sohail Khan, who finished with an unbeaten 25 off 18 balls.
With two required off the last three balls, Sohail Khan struck a six off the fourth delivery to seal a victory for his side.
Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad and Israrullah got their side off to a decent start before Wahab Riaz nabbed Shehzad for his first wicket.
The middle-order consisting of Nihal Mansoor, Mohammad Rizwan and Rameez Raja were removed by Wahab Riaz in no time to get KPK back in the contest.
However, Mohammad Nawaz struck a run-a-ball 62 to instill some hope in his side.
Federal Areas were bowled out for 269 in 45.3 overs.
Wahab Riaz ended up with figures of 5 for 52.
