Zeeshan Ashraf, Umar Akmal and Amad Butt powered Balochistan to 72-run win over Sindh in the 3rd match of the Pakistan Cup 2019.
After being asked to bat first by Sindh, Balochistan lost their opening batsman Awais Zia, cleaned up by Ashiq Ali. He made 13 off 22 balls.
Zeeshan Ashraf (75 off 75 balls) and Asad Shafiq (53 off 47 balls) then took the responsibility and constructed a much needed partnership for their side. The duo shared a 100-run stand before Zeeshan Ashraf was caught off Nauman Ali’s bowling.
Umar Akmal then single-handedly took the onus and smashed a quick fire 99 off 66 balls. His innings consisted of seven fours and six maximums.
Lower down the order, it was Amad Butt who hammered 42 off just 18 balls to take the final score to a mammoth 346.
In reply, Sahibzada Farhan was found wanting against Haris Rauf. He made 19 off 20 balls.
But Umer Siddiq and Ahsan Ali gave Sindh some stability to take the game forward for their side.
Ahsan Ali got to 42 off 47 balls before Amad Butt got the better of him.
Umar Siddiq (88 off 64) found himself short of the crease where Fawad Alam’s electrifying fielding caught the batsman short of his crease.
Umar Amin (60 off 68) and Aamer Yamin (46 off 41) offered some resistance but the batting side kept on losing wickets which didn’t help their case.
Sindh were eventually bowled out for 274, falling short by 72 runs.
Amad Butt ended up with three wickets while Mohammad Irfan nabbed two.
