Khyber Pakhtunkhwa edged Balochistan by nine runs to win the final of Pakistan Cup 2019.
With 308 to win, Balochistan were restricted to 298/9 despite couple of decent batting performances from them.
Awais Zia put up an impressive show at the top of the order with 83 off 94 balls.
Skipper Asad Shafiq scored a free-flowing 48 off 45 balls before he was stumped off Zohaib Khan’s bowling.
Umar Akmal, who has enjoyed a solid run throughout the tournament, got out for his 23 off 16 balls. He was nabbed by Umaid Asif, who picked up 2 for 51 from his full quota of overs.
However, Fawad Alam shared few partnerships with Ali Imran and Bismillah Khan to get his side closer to the target.
With 22 required off the last 12 balls, Sohail Khan got rid of Fawad Alam, Haris Rauf and Amad Butt to put further brakes on the opposition.
Wahab Riaz then successfully defended 12 from the last over with Mohammad Irfan and Umer Khan at the crease.
Earlier, Abid Ali top-scored for KPK with a magnificent 132 off 119 balls to lay a perfect platform for the other batsmen to cash in.
Mohammad Saad supported Abid well with a 61-ball 51. He struck five fours and one maximum in his innings.
Sohail Khan struck a few blows right towards the end of the innings. His knock included five sixes and one four.
Sohail Khan was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
