In the first encounter of the day, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) scored 165 in their 20 overs. Kamran Ghulam topped the batting card with an unbeaten 46 while Ali Imran accumulated 32.
In reply, Santex Group overhauled the score in the last over of the innings. Ammad Alam scored 56 while Nabeel Khalid and Hussain Talat stroked 36 runs each. Kamran Ghulam took 3 wickets and was declared man of the match.
In the second match, Misbah-ul-Haq’s Saima Group failed to put up an impressive show while batting first against Pakistan Air Force.
Misbah had to walk in early as the opening batsmen Imran Nazir and Agha Sabir returned to the dugout cheaply. The former Pakistan captain managed 25 runs in 36 balls and the only other notable contribution was from Fazal Subhan who scored 22. Saima Group were eventually bundled out for 89.
The PAF, in pursuit of a straightforward run chase, chased down the target in the 10th over with seven wickets to spare.
Kashif Ali and Muhammad Ismail, who took three and two wickets respectively, were jointly declared men of the match.
