An all-round performance from Nida Dar lead Pakistan to a seven wicket win against South Africa in the first T20I.
Dar, who was named player of the match, rattled the opposition after Sana Mir’s opening burst as South Africa were restricted to 119 for seven in their 20 overs.
With the bat, Nida added 89 runs for the third wicket with captain Bismah Maroof to guide Pakistan home with two overs to spare.
Sana Mir produced another brilliant spell of spin bowling to derail the hosts batting line-up after they were put in to bat first.
Pakistan bowlers continued to take wickets as South Africa were reduced to 61 for six after 14 overs.
A 54-run partnership between Chloe Tryon (43) and Shabnim Ismail (20*) gave South Africa some hope as they ended their innings at 119 for seven.
Nida Dar provided great support to Sana, taking two wickets for 30 runs in her four overs while Aliya Riaz and Nashra Sandhu picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Pakistan lost two early wickets but the partnership between Nida and Bismah ensured that the visitors got over the line easily. Bismah scored an unbeaten 53 off 48 balls, while Nida was dismissed after scoring an aggressive 53 off 37 balls.
