The Stars XI defeated Governor’s XI by three wickets on the last ball of the exhibition match at the Naya Nazimabad stadium.
On the eve of the quarter-final stage of the Brighto presents Osaka Naya Nazimabad Ramzan Cup 2019, Governor’s XI opted to bat first, after winning the coin-toss. They managed to score 178 from their 20 overs.
Umar Akmal retired after scoring 78 off 28 deliveries. Rehan Shaikh stroked 36. In reply, the Stars’ XI innings derailed with 5 down on 91. The lower order steadied the ship and propelled the Stars’ XI home on the last ball with three wickets to spare.
Fakhar e Alam and Nawab Alam remained unbeaten on 20 and 22 runs respectively. Mukhtar Ahmed was the top scorer with 43 runs.
Umar Akmal was declared man of the match.
