Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday confirmed Lahore as the venue for the final of the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Though the cricket board is hopeful about the plan going ahead in their original form, Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi revealed about a contingency plans being drawn if foreign players of the finalist sides refuse to tour Pakistan.
“Once the teams for the finals are decided and their icon or foreign players refuse to travel to Lahore, we will make a new draft with a pool from the existing 30-35 players of PSL,” he said, adding, “We will probably need about five to ten players for Lahore, and those players who would be available from the discarded three teams can then get picked through this draft for the final.”
After an attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in March 2009, international teams have been reluctant to visit Pakistan. However, in 2015, Zimbabwe became the only Full Member to tour Lahore for five matches — two Twenty20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals.
Pakistan hosted the inaugural PSL edition in the United Arab Emirates, with the final being held in Dubai.
The second edition of the five-team tournament will run from February 9 till March 5.RELATED:
