The Caribbean Premier League side Jamaica Tallawahs have announced Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah as the replacement for Pakistan’s Imad Wasim, who was recalled by the Pakistan Cricket Board to undergo fitness testing. Imad played five games for Tallawahs this season.
"We are gutted to be losing Imad Wasim but Mahmudullah is a great replacement," Tallawahs coach Paul Nixon said. "He is a proven match winner at international level and he is exactly the kind of player we need to claim back to back Hero CPL titles."
Wasim had picked up four wickets in the 17 overs he bowled in five matches, at an impressive economy rate of 5.35, the best for Tallawahs so far.
Mahmudullah, who was recently dropped from Bangladesh’s Test side to play two Tests at home against Australia, has an overall T20 record of 2344 runs in 123 innings, at a strike rate of 114.28, and 67 wickets with an economy rate of 7.04.
Mahmudullah will join Tallawahs on August 23, before their match against St Lucia Stars on August 25 at Sabina Park.
