Virat hails Ronaldo as the greatest player

Virat Kohli is an ardent fan of football and he has given the verdict on Cristiano Ronaldo hailing him as the world's best footballer hands down. He went so far as to say that the Portuguese premier goalscorer is still a force to reckon with at the age of 34.

"For me, Cristiano is above everyone else. His commitment and work ethic is unmatched. He wants it that bad – you can see it every game," Kohli was all praise for his biggest football idol.

"In my opinion, he has taken on more challenges and succeeded at all of them. He's the most complete player I have seen and his work ethic, as I mentioned, is unmatched.

"He inspires people. I don't think many people do that. He's also a leader and I love that. Absolutely love it. He has amazing belief too."

Ronaldo and Kohli have a massive following but on social media, Ronaldo has in excess of 177 million loyal followers and on the other hand, Kohli has 30 million fans on Twitter.

Kohli passion for soccer can be ascertained from the fact that he is the proud owner of Indian Super League football team, FC Goa.

Regarding Indian football team Kohli was optimistic about their World Cup chances saying his country can soon reach a World Cup finals, despite their current FIFA ranking of 103.

Reflecting on current Indian football pool of players, he opined "With new talent coming in to make the difference, and our skipper Sunil Chhetri leading the team with amazing composure and inspiration, I see us qualifying very soon for the World Cup," said Kohli.
