Sri Lanka will tour India for a three-match T20I series in January next year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced.
Sri Lanka will be heading as replacement for Zimbabwe following their suspension by the ICC in July.
“In the wake of Zimbabwe’s suspension by ICC, the BCCI invited Sri Lanka to participate in the three-match series,” said BCCI in a statement.
The International Cricket Council had suspended Zimbabwe Cricket following high levels of government interference in board’s matters.
The T20I series will kick off from January 5 with the first match to be played in Guwahati.
The second game will be played on January 7 in Indore while the third and final match will be played on January 10 in Pune.
