World XI tour tickets go online

The tickets for the highly-anticipated three-match T20I series between Pakistan and ICC World XI have been made available at from 12:00 am on September 1.

The booked tickets will be available for collection after Eid-ul-Azha holidays (Sept 1 till Sept 4) from the Pearl Continental hotel located at Mall Road, approximately 15 minutes away from the Qaddafi Stadium.

The prices for the tickets range from PKR 500 to 8,000.

The General Stands that include Sarfaraz Nawaz and Saeed Anwar enclosures will have the lowest price tickets. A seat in Inzamam-ul-Haq and Majid Khan enclosures will cost PKR 2,500. The Abdul Qadir, Rajas (Ramiz Raja and Wasim Hasan Raja), Javed Miandad, and A.H. Kardar enclosures will have a ticket priced at PKR 4,000.

The VIP tickets at the Imran Khan and Fazl Mehmood enclosure that cost PKR 12,000 during the PSL-II final are priced at half of the amount.

Cricingif understands that the fifty percent decrease in the prices is because of the three matches in the series. The PCB then wanted to cash more and more on the hype that surrounded the PSL-II final.

VVIP seats at the newly-built Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram enclosures, beneath the Media Box, at the Far End Pavilion are priced at PKR 8,000.

Since the attack on the Sri Lankan team in March 2009, Pakistan has hosted only six high-profile cricket matches and the PSL-II final was one of them.

A smooth execution of the World XI series will pave way for a cricket season in the country in nearly eight years. Sri Lanka and West Indies will tour Pakistan for two and three T20Is in October and November subject to the success of the World XI series.

*an earlier version of this story stated VVIP tickets to be priced at PKR 6,000 instead of PKR 8,000.
