All the renowned players who have played for Pakistan will be seen in action during the National T20 Cup 2019 and they are ecstatic to play in front of the home crowd. The players hope for sellout crowds in Faisalabad - the city which is known for its great humour and musical talent.
Shan Masood, who was the shining star in the test series earlier this year against South Africa, will polish his power-hitting ability while captaining the Southern Punjab side.
The southpaw said, “This tournament will produce more stars for Pakistan. I request all the fans to come to the stadium and enjoy cricket. This time, the PCB has dedicated Javed Miandad enclosure for the families, to provide comfort to the family."
Ahmed Shehzad isn't the name that you will associate with happy memories after the way he folded in his comeback against Sri Lanka a couple of days ago. The opener will start at square one while vice captaining the Central Punjab team.
"No cricket can be successful unless and until without the engagement of the crowd. The people of Faisalabad not only enjoy cricket but have always supported the cricketers whenever they are here. We are here to entertain the fans and I request everyone, specifically the families, to come out and enjoy," Shehzad too urged the fans to enjoy competitive cricket in their beloved city.
Imran Farhat is still a force in the domestic cricket and will be seen in action while vice captaining the Balochistan team.
“The upcoming cricketers of all the teams are highly talented and entertaining. I am sure that the quality of cricket will be amazing in the tournament and the people of Faisalabad will have a great time at the stadium," Imran said at the press conference.
As expected Sarfaraz Ahmed will be spearheading the Sindh side and it's a great opportunity for him to find his groove again. He has been under the pump due to his underwhelming performances in the recent past but this T20 Cup is a chance for him to bring back the 'go get him' attitude that brought him to prominence when he first burst onto the international scene.
"There’s a new structure in place after which we will get to see quality cricket. I request all the parents to bring their kids to the stadium so they can get to see their stars in action," Sarfaraz said in the pre-tournament press conference.
Sohail Tanvir, the mainstay of limited-overs cricket who has played in all major T20 leagues around the world has got an abundant bag of tricks to stop the run flow and trigger false shots. He will be representing the Northern side.
The left-arm bowler with an awkward action would also like to see strong backing from the crowd in Faisalabad which is also known as 'the Manchester of Pakistan'. He said, "We have always received tremendous support from the fans here in Faisalabad. The cricketers and fans go hand in hand and we are nothing without them. I look forward to the traditional Faisalabad support for this tournament as well."
The back-up Pakistan national team keeper Mohammad Rizwan is rated as one of the fittest players in the circuit. He can manoeuvre the ball easily into the gaps with his quick footwork and caress the ball into the covers with ease. Rizwan is representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the T20 National Cup.
"We need fans to boost us. The cricketing action is going to be top-class as every team boasts at least 10 to 11 international players. There’s a new system in place which focuses on quality, and it will be on display during the course of this tournament," Rizwan said in a bid to persuade fans to come in large numbers at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
