Shoaib Malik will represent Jozi Stars for the latter part of the Mzansi Super League, it was announced by the franchise.
Jozi Stars announced that Malik would be the franchise’s marquee overseas signing, taking over from Chris Gayle, who will be available for first six matches of the league.
"It's very exciting for me to be joining Jozi Stars as I've never played domestic cricket in South Africa previously, although I have obviously played many times there with my country,” said Malik on his signing.
"Hopefully we can be successful, and I look forward to contributing to the cause when I join up with them."
The Johannesburg-based franchise were the champions of the last season which was launched by Cricket South Africa last year despite the lack of a title sponsor or a significant television deal.
Malik, who is a star attraction in T20 leagues all over the world, is the fourth highest run-getter in T20 cricket and can add value with his off-spin as well.
The 2019 edition of the Mzansi Super League will be played between November 8 and December 16.
