Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah will be filling in for Shadab Khan after the latter left Trinbago Knight Riders to join his national side ahead of the three T20Is against ICC World XI in Lahore from September 12.
Shadab role was vital in his side’s progression to the qualifiers as he picked up 12 wickets in eight matches at an average of 15.
This will be Yasir’s second stint in a foreign T20 league. The previous came for Dhaka Dynamites in the 2015 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. The 31-year-old has 60 wickets in 69 matches at an average of 28.
On his inclusion in the side, Simon Katich, TKR’s coach said: "Winning matches in T20 cricket is so often about claiming wickets at vital times, and a leg spinner of the quality of Yasir will do just that. We are at the business end of the tournament and Yasir's experience and skill will be vital as we look to claim our second Hero CPL title."
TKR lock horns with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final playoff on Thursday to secure the final berth against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday.
