Cape Town Blitz have signed Moeen Ali for their first two games of the upcoming edition of the Mzansi Super League.
Moeen will be available for the MSL clashes against Jozi Stars and Paarl Rocks before Pakistan left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz joins the Blitz squad.
Wahab was picked by the Cape Town-based franchise in the MSL draft last month but will be engaged in Pakistan's three-match T20I series in Australia.
The final game of the Australia series will take place on November 8, which coincides with the MSL tournament opener hence he will be able to ply his trade in the competition six days later.
Moeen, who was part of England's World Cup-winning squad earlier this summer, has been rested for the ongoing five T20Is against New Zealand.
After opting to take a short break from cricket, Moeen returned to form in emphatic fashion by delivering some stunning performances in the T20 Blast where he almost led his side to the coveted title.
"I'm very excited to be part of the MSL and joining Cape Town Blitz for the start of the tournament. I'm looking forward to playing with and against some world-class players," Moeen said as he looked forward to his debut MSL stint.
Reacting to Moeen's signing, Cape Town Blitz coach Ashwell Prince said: "Moeen brings huge international experience to the team and in county cricket, he won the T20 Blast in 2018 with Worcestershire Rapids and he led them to the 2019 [edition] final, so we're looking forward to having him in Cape Town."
