Ruthless Australia hammer Pakistan to win the series 2-0

Pakistan's batting performance went from bad to worse as they managed a paltry 106 on a lively pitch. It seemed like the visitors were playing with too many batsmen suited to One Day style batting.

Imam ul Haq failed to get over the top of the bounce and got holed out to midwicket on 14 while Haris Sohail couldn't clear the ropes as he advanced down to Kane Richardson.

Babar Azam got a bit unlucky with the LBW call as the ball only clipped the leg stump and the on-field decision stood after he challenged the decision. Pakistan batting pivots around the newly-appointed captain and Babar going back in the hut dented heavily as apart from Iftikhar Ahmed's blistering knock of 45 off 37, nobody else could face the music from the charged up Australia pace battery.

"Very disappointed, but we lost to a good team. We have learnt a lot from this series and we'll take the positives and come back hard in the next series," said skipper Babar Azam.

Khushdil Shah on debut was visibly troubled by the bounce as he got a thick edge that flew to the third man. There was a lot of resemblance in the way batsmen perished, not able to negotiate with the searing bounce. The likes of Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, Billy Stanlake and Sean Abbott bowled the nagging lines and never allowed Pakistan to cut loose.

Aaron Finch is ecstatic with his team's progress with T20 World Cup less than a year away and his side has started preparations for the marquee tournament in perfect fashion, sending an early warning to the top sides.

"Really proud of the boys with the way we applied ourselves in the last couple of weeks. Each time we turn up at training, we are improving ourselves and that is very important," said captain Finch.

David Warner and Aaron Finch gyrated to the total with ridiculous ease. They came and they conquered, hitting the deflated bowling arsenal around the park and especially annihilated the debutants, Musa Khan and Muhammad Hasnain, who bowled well in patches but even the best in the business find it hard to halt the attacking opening pair from Australia when they are on song.

There was no hiding for Pakistan bowlers today as Australia stormed to victory with 49 balls remaining and are set to topple Pakistan from the number ranking.
