Dawid Malan’s heroics against New Zealand have vaulted him to third place in ICC rankings for T20I batsmen.
Malan’s tally of 458 runs in his first nine T20Is is more than anyone else. He had a stunning run against New Zealand recently which included a fastest T20I hundred by an Englishman (off 48 balls).
On the other hand, Aaron Finch has moved up two places to sit on the second spot, whereas Babar Azam is placed on top of the list with 876 points.
England skipper Eoin Morgan and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill have also made improvements to jointly share the ninth spot.
In the bowling department, Deepak Chahar’s record figures against Bangladesh have helped him leap 88 places to sit on 42nd number. However, the bowling list in T20Is continues to be dominated by slower bowlers with eight out of ten falling in that category.
Ashton Agar’s fine bowling performances against Sri Lanka and Pakistan have promoted him to the ninth spot in bowlers’ rankings.
In the ICC rankings for T20I sides, Pakistan are placed at the top with 270 points. Australia are only one point less as they recently thumped Pakistan 2-0 in a T20I series.
