Mohammad Nabi has joined Kent as an overseas player for the next season of T20 Blast, it was announced by the club.
Nabi, who is currently No 1 ranked all-rounder in T20Is, featured for Kent last season and scored 147 runs at a prolific strike rate of 153.
His special performance came against Surrey, where he struck a blistering 43 off 12 balls to seal a win for his side in a rain-marred game.
The Afghan all-rounder has a significant experience of T20 leagues all around the world and was picked up London Spirits in the Hundred tournament.
"I very much enjoyed my first season with Kent and I am pleased to be coming back for another year of the Vitality Blast. There's lots of quality in the team so hopefully, we can do well," said Nabi as quoted by Kent CCC.
Paul Downton, Kent’s Director of cricket, said Nabi’s all-round ability made him a match-winner.
"To do well in the Blast, you need a number of match-winners, and Nabi showed us what he is capable of last year," he said.
"His ability to bowl at any stage of the innings and to hit the ball out of the park when he bats makes him one of the most exciting players in world cricket. He fitted into our environment really well and to have him with us for the entirety of the South Group in 2020 is a boost to the whole squad."
